Eric Miller Design Partners with Solspace for ExpressionEngine Add-On Design
We are very excited to announce a partnership with Solspace, one of the oldest and most trusted ExpressionEngine development companies. Starting with a new ExpressionEngine add-on currently in development, Eric Miller Design will be working on user experience and interface design for Solspace software.
ExpressionEngine is our content management system of choice because of its flexible nature, ease-of-use for the client, and great community behind it. We use it to build full-featured websites that are maintained by our clients. Since we already use Solspace add-ons for all of our projects, we are looking forward to playing a part in how that software looks, and how developers and their clients interact with it.
Our relationship with Solspace began during my nine years as the full-time web designer for BMI, during which I worked closely with Solspace President & CEO Mitchell Kimbrough on custom development for bmi.com. You can read more about that work in the Devot:ee interview.
Talk about collaboration continued over drinks at SXSW 2007, and then over many instant messages, which led to projects that have already resulted in add-ons for ExpressionEngine. Solspace’s creation of a system to import thousands of songs into the Songwriters Hall of Fame website for us eventually turned into their Importer Module. Our partnership on the real estate startup directory SnapDigs needed an extremely advanced search, and Solspace’s solution led to their Super Search module.
Most recently, we’ve teamed up with them to design the interface for the EngineHosting control panel, still in development.
